NXT Tutorial

These lessons assume you have a basic robot built similar to the one on the home page. See the RoboCenter or Robot Educator in the NXT Editor software for plans or use the paper copy that came with your set. Welcome to our multimedia tutorial for the NXT-G graphical language of the LEGO® Mindstorms® NXT system.robot

This tutorial is divided into two sections selected on the left. The Essentials are things every NXT programmer should know. Some of these movies have exercises directly under them. Its important to do these exercises, not just assume you get it. The biggest reason why people have problems using the NXT-G language is not applying through hands-on programming what they have just learned.

The Advanced section is for reference purposes. When you need one of NXT-Gs advanced functions, check it out. This tutorial requires Shockwave to play the movies. If its not installed on this machine you can download the free player here. Also, check out the Browser Settings section if you are having problems with your browser constantly blocking this content.

Teaching Robotics

In order to develop standards, we must first identify key skills which students will need in the future. It's not as easy as you think to ascertain the identity of these skills, because it's difficult to predict the future. Although, within the next ten years, the paradigm of workplace technology is sure to change.
